• Etymologie: The new genus is dedicated to Dr. Alexey A. Zyuzin (Almaty, Kazakhstan), a retired expert on the Lycosidae who collected all the new species described here. The generic name consists of two parts: "Zyuzi", referring to the surname Zyuzin, and the second half of the generic name Lycosa, to which the majority of large burrowing wolf spiders are traditionally assigned.
